Welcome!

No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here at St. Luke’s. Whether you just moved to Lititz or have been here all your life, whether you saw our sign or received one of our postcards, were are glad that you are here. Our members have made a list of recommended restaurants within about five miles of Lititz, and you can find it here. We know there are many other good restaurants in and around Lititz. Use the form at the bottom of this page to let us know if you find one you especially like.

Holy Week and Easter

Our Maundy Thursday service at 7:30 pm on April 2 recalls the Last Supper, Jesus’ final meal with his disciples, with Communion being served at tables set up on the sanctuary floor in front of the altar. The Good Friday service at 7:30 pm on April 3 marks the crucifixion and death of Jesus. However, the sunrise service at 6:30 am on Sunday, April 5, at the Old Zion Reformed Church in Brickerville, turns things around and celebrates Christ’s rising from the tomb. We return to Lititz for a pancake and sausage breakfast at St. Luke’s around 8:00 am. There will be no Sunday School, and our joyous Easter service begins at 10:30 am. For more details, see our Calendar and Events page using the link at the bottom of this page.

Installation of Pastor Jeff Shanaberger

Join us at 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 12, for a special service that will see Rev. Dr. Jeff Shanaberger formally installed as our Called Pastor, after having served as Interim and then Designated Pastor. In the United Church of Christ (UCC), installation is authorized by a local Association (in our case, the Lancaster Association) in cooperation with the local church. Installation confirms and celebrates the covenantal relationship among St. Luke’s, its newly called pastor, and the UCC. Installation is a sign that these covenantal partners are committed to share mutually in the mission of the UCC and of the ecumenical church. Representing the Association will be special guests, Rev. Dr. Christopher Rankin (Pastor, Trinity UCC, East Petersburg), preaching, and Rev. Dana Schlegel, Minister to the Homebound and Elderly at 1st Reformed Church UCC, Lancaster, and former Pastor of St. Luke’s), presenting the Charge to the Church and Pastor. An offering will be received for the Seminary Student Fund.

Who We Are

St. Luke’s United Church of Christ is a joyful, friendly, and caring congregation, living our call as a part of the universal Body of Christ.

We are united by our faith in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, who by the power of the Holy Spirit, leads, guides, and empowers us. We rely on the Word of God. We embrace the traditions of the Church and the continued movement of the Holy Spirit in us today. We affirm our God-given curiosity, intellect, and talents.

As a Spirit-inspired congregation, we value:

  • Worship in Word and Sacrament, enhanced by music and the arts, as a celebration of God’s love.
  • The deep connections that grow out of work and play, joys, and trials, as families and individuals, among people of all ages, both within our congregation and the community at large.
  • Spiritual discipline in prayer, study, self-giving, and service.
