Our Formal Search for a New Pastor Begins

Since Pastor Haun retired last summer, we have been exploring who we are, what our vision and mission should be and the kind of things we would be looking for in a new pastor. We have completed a detailed Local Church Profile which is available on the United Church of Christ web site for prospective candidates to review. A Search Team has begun organizing to review and interview applicants and recommend a new pastor to the congregation for approval.

Who We Are

St. Luke’s United Church of Christ is a joyful, friendly, and caring congregation, living our call as a part of the universal Body of Christ.

We are united by our faith in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, who by the power of the Holy Spirit, leads, guides, and empowers us. We rely on the Word of God. We embrace the traditions of the Church and the continued movement of the Holy Spirit in us today. We affirm our God-given curiosity, intellect, and talents.

As a Spirit-inspired congregation, we value:

  • Worship in Word and Sacrament, enhanced by music and the arts, as a celebration of God’s love.
  • The deep connections that grow out of work and play, joys, and trials, as families and individuals, among people of all ages, both within our congregation and the community at large.
  • Spiritual discipline in prayer, study, self-giving, and service.
